Purpose of IELTS:
This test is used for the purpose of study, migration or work.
Countries Accepting IELTS:

Validity of IELTS Result:
- Canada - 2 years
- Australia - 2 years, extended to 3 years.
- US, UK - 2 years
IELTS Pattern:
- Reading - 60 minutes(40 questions).
- Writing - 60 minutes(2 tasks)
- Speaking - 11 to 14 minutes(3 sections)
- Listening - 30 minutes(4 questions).
IELTS Score:
The score is on a scale of 9 band, ranging from 1(lowest) to 9(highest)
- 9 - Expert User
- 8 - Very good user.
- 7 - Good user.
- 6 - Competent User.
- 5 - Modest User.
- 4 - Limited User.
- 3 - Extremely Limited User.
- 2 - Intermittent User.
- 1 - Non-User
- 0 - Did not attempt
IELTS Eligibility
Anyone above the age of 16 from India is eligible. Most Universities accept a band score of 7 or above and some even accept the score of 6.5. You can attempt the exam as many times you want. It is advised to aim for higher band scores in IELTS because the score need changes according to the university.

How to prepare for IELTS?
- Make yourself fluent in speaking English.
- Brush up your skills on speaking and writing.
- Each section has time limits in exam so, practice at home with time limits.
- Learn Parts of speech, grammar rules, new words each day, reading practice.
- Take mock or practice tests, there are number of tests available online for free practice.
